New Bask Hostel

New Bask Hostel is one of the coziest budget hostels in quito. It’s ran by an Ecuadorian family that gives every traveler the filling that they are at home. The rooms are clean, but don’t expect anything fancy… 

La Casa Sol

this hostels is more of a "luxury hostel" for those backpackers who are willing to pend a little more... the design of the place if beautiful and the place is definitely worth a visit.

I would recommend it for honeymooners or budget travelers with a little more budget. the atmosphere is great there.

The Secret Garden Hostel

this is on the of the most recommend hostels in quito, i personally stayed there for 3 weeks during december 2008... the view from the balcony is priceless together with a great party atmosphere brought by the "volunteers" that come and stay there for free in return for the 2 A's - accommodation and alcohol...

Hostal Jhomana

this hostel  is located in the mariscal area, about 5 minutes walk from plaza foch (the centeral plaza in the mariscal) - it is located on a quite street and is perfecr for couple and families... the owners are a very nice and helpful swedish/Ecuadorian couple.

Backpackers´ Inn Hostel

ok, so this hostel is located right in the center of the mariscal - the "party area" and it is amazingly clean and nice (especially for young backpackers).

the owner (Yoli - a super nice swiss lady) is almost always there to make you drink enough before you go out salsa dancing. - this is a service you don't get anywhere. 

apart from the party atmosphere, the hostel is still quite and personal...

Hostels in Quito

so, there are a couple of very nice hostels in quito. The thing is, that quito has about 3 different centers which are all touristic and cool to visit. firstly you wanna decide, where you wanna be:

1. the old city - full of  historical important stuff.

2. the mariscal - party.

3. the "new center" -it's not really what it's called... just a nickname i made for it.

note: quito, is relatively small, and a taxi between any of these areas should not cost more then 3usds tops!-make sure you tell the cab driver to use the "taximetero"
